Light the Night Update:

Thank you to NET 30 for supporting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) through participating in the "Light the Night" walk! Your donations go toward research to find a cure and gentler treatments for blood cancers.

I am a survivor of multiple myeloma, a blood cancer of the plasma cells that wreaks havoc with the immune system and other functions. It is treatable, but there is no cure yet. My family, friends and folks like you are my best supporters; not only contributing to find a cure, but pushing me every day to enjoy life.  

Donations to LLS provide patients with information through pamphlets, web-conferencing, and one-on-one conversations about their diseases and treatments. They also support laboratory researcher and provide patient aid. I have been a recipient of many of these benefits. Thanks for you support to NET 30 and their efforts to benefit the LLS!

NET 30's Tip Corner : Business Buzz

Communications cost is an area that often does not get the attention it deserves by small businesses. We are afraid of technology or think we have no leverage with providers or just have not had time. 

Here are two suggestions. First, the telephone and high speed data marketplace is changing rapidly. Local cable television providers have begun actively soliciting business customers. They have created packages tailored to us. The telephone companies have responded in some cases which provide opportunities for lower cost and greater bandwidth and speed. Recent experience suggests that even quoted rates can be flexible. Competition offers us an opportunity. 

Second, for those of us required to use "snail mail", there are ways we can gain efficiencies. Always use ZIP plus 4. A one or two day improvement in delivery is possible. If you use payment envelopes for your customers, have the MICR code of your address printed on them. The USPS has become more aggressive in their approach to competing with the private carriers. Priority Mail and Express Mail offer potential for savings. Visit USPS.com and click on Business Solutions. You will be pleasantly surprised.
